2 year old behavior problems

by shanate, Feb 21, 2008 05:01PM
My son is 2 years old. We have had him looked at by Early Intervention a few months ago. He is getting help with direction and speech which he is behind on. Also, they think there is some kind of sensory issue they are looking into. He doesn't like when his head is touched. Nose, mouth, ears..stuff like that. He seems to trust me now to allow only me to. He screems and get mad when certain people look at him or if someone is singing(even on TV). Is behavior has changed recently with in the past two weeks. He's more aggressive and doesn't like strangers at all. If we go to a store, he screams at anyone who looks at him. If someone passes the cart, he screams and swats at them. He started hitting and screaming at the people who come over to help with speech and direction. He plays near them, but gets upset if they try to play along. It was fine in the beginning. Now he's starting to act that way towards family members who he knew from birth, even his father and I. It seems to be that he just doesn't like to be bothered. He's independent and wants to do things by him self. I think with the behavior he has, there could be something not right. Other things is that one of the evauluators said she noticed he hold his mouth weird and his hands are very shakey. Any ideas or just terrible 2's?

I would take him to the doctor and have him evaluated.  He is young, and if there is a serious underlying problem, now is the time to diagnose it.  There is a lot of anger inside of him, and it could possibly be because he doesn't know how to express himself.  Doctors know constructive ways to help you help him express himself.
