Pain on Reverse side

Hello, I was just diagnosed with a complex mass on my left ovary, but I am having severe lower back back and discomfort on my right side.  Is this common?  Why would the pain be on the opposite side?

I think sometimes when you hurt, you carry yourself a certain way and maybe tense and it can cause muscles to hurt somewhere else as a result.
