Miscarriage Jan 29th/Just had + HPT

by niknak30, Feb 22, 2008 04:29PM
I had a miscarriage on Jan 29(4 weeks pregnant), and I stopped bleeding on Feb6th.  I did an HPT after I stopped bleeding as the doctor had suggested to make sure I wasn't pregnant and it was negative.  My Fiance and I decided to keep trying as normal and I started to feel some of the same symptoms again this week.  I took a HPT on Wednesday and it came up positive again.  I'm trying not to get too excited.  I have read that sometimes it is easier to get pregnant right after a miscarriage but I don't know if there is any truth to that.  I'm wondering if there is an increased risk of having another miscarriage if you get pregnant again right away?  I know I have tested quite early because if my cycle goes back to normal then my period would not be due until Sunday.  I just was feeling very pregnant again so I had to know.  Any advice would be helpful.  Thanks

First off let me say I'm so sorry for your loss. Secondly Congrats on another pregnancy. I'm not certain if there are any increased risks of miscarriage. I miscarried in May 2005 and my dr. advised me to wait 3 cycles before trying again just to give the body time to recover competely. However, I know many women who suffered miscarraige only to get pregnant right away and have a healthy pregnancy. I would make an appointment with your Dr. right away just to make sure things are progressing normally. Good luck and I hope that this one sticks for you! You are in my thoughts.
