lump on ankle after stress fracture

by trigirl123, Feb 23, 2008 04:23PM
I suffered a stress fracture on my ankle back in November.  I immediately sought care and wore the "boot" for 6 weeks and did no running.  I have since built my running back up. When the stress fracture occured I noticed a lump, cyst like, right next to the bone where the fracture was on my ankle.  It goes away when I don't run and immediately pops back up when I do and frankly, anytime I am on it too much, especially in heels.  Last run it felt tight and like it was pulling on something, had to stop running, elevate it at the park for a few minutes and then finish the run. Does anyone know what this is?  And is it from the stress fracture ro something else I should be taking care of?
Thanx
