is soy as congestive as cow milk?

I have noticed my kids are sicker more often the more milk and sugar they consume.  I have taken processed sugar and all but a small amount of dairy out of their diet.  My daughter has reactive airway disease and spends alot of time in the house on her nebulizer and humidifier.  I put them on soy milk and lactaid milk but i don't know if its making enough of a difference.  I know my daughter is breathing a little easier but what other ideas can i try or should i just put them back on dairy?  Please help me any way you can.

Some people do have issues with dairy products with congestion in the lungs. Soymilk is not a dairy product and will not congest like milk. It has about the same amount of protein and is fortified with similar nutrients so it is a good substitute for milk. Lactaid milk is regular milk with additional lactase enzyme in it so people with lactose intolerance (lack of the lactase enzyme) can digest it easier. Recommend to not use the Lactaid milk at all and increase the soymilk to the amount of what you gave the Lactaid milk at. Hope this helped you.
