Angioplasty - Sudden Death

by Mohanjoseph, Feb 25, 2008 12:42AM
Doctor,

About 6 months back my father had first attack and that time he was survived with only having Aspirin and not even gone to hospital. After  one month he was admitted in a hospital and made proper diagnosis and found 2 blocks in 2 valves one is 70%, and the doctor advised him to go with Angioplasty. We agreed his advise and all the blocks have been removed by Angioplasty. Doctor used 3 stents, as one of the blocks is too big.

From that point every 3 weeks my father had regular check-up and he was quite normal.

One night around 10:00pm he called us and said he has problem in breathing and severe chest pain. We immediately rushed him to a hospital and before we reached the hospital he was dead. The time was 10:20pm. All it happened in just less than 20 minutes

He is a diabetics. And having 60 ml of liquor daily after even the heart surgery. And also he missed one or 2 days of taking tablets, not continuously. And he sometimes eat fatty food, not regular basis. His body is slim and doing light works and exercise. He is a shop keeper and has no worries. He is 66Years old.

He lived only 5months after the Angioplasty treatment.
And just 3 weeks back he had his routine check-up and the doctor said he was quite alright by seeing his ECG, blood. Etc reports.

Kindly tell me your opinion on his death and What could caused for his death? I just want to know the reason please.

Awaiting for your kind response. Thanks a lot.
