pain and IVF

by melsbels, Feb 25, 2008 02:01PM
Hi, I've finished 3 cycles of IVF and have been unsuccessful. I have now stopped and one year later I am getting on with my life pretty well but talking with a girlfriend about to start IVF treatment has brought up many of my old worries. I feel like a failure not because I didn't fall pregnant but because I had so much trouble tolerating the physical pain of the hycosy and my menstruation without painkillers. I was diagnosed with adomyosis (?sp). My periods have always been heavy and clotting and i usually resort to painkillers each month which i couldn't take during IVF treatment. It seems like lots of women describe less pain than i experienced which makes me wonder if my anxiety about the pain could have exacerbated it. I would love to hear from anyone who relates to anything i'm saying.i feel like theres something wrong with me.
