Dischage and Cuts

by jessgirl, Feb 26, 2008 12:17PM
Hi,
I have recently had a new parter give me oral sex and fingered me. I have never had intercouse. Anyway, about a week later the inside of my lips started getting sore and the opening to my urethra became a little swollen. This has happened before and I assumed it was a UTI so I drank cranberry juice and water and it eventually went away. Well this time it hasn't. It has persisted for about a week and 1/2 and now it is accomanied with thick white discharge with an odd smell and right on the inside of my lips there is symetrical cuts on both sides that when pulled (like while wipeing or washing) will come open and start to bleed. The skin from the cut on into the vagina is scrunched up and a lighter color than usual. Also, the whole area itches at times. I am a 19 year old college student and if I need to go to the doctor can you recomend somewhere that will be confidential, cheap, and I wont need to use my parents insurance.

Hello,

You need to be seen an ob/gyn and examined.  I don't know where you live to recommend where you should go.  A good place to start would be the student health services center on your campus, or an area Planned Parenthood.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

I have never had anything that you are describing but I do know that it sounds like you might have an infection, the guy might have had dirt on his hands and he touched you in a warm place. That is a warm private place and warmth can encourage the bacteria to grow. You should definetly get it sorted out by a doctor. Dont be embarassed many women get thrush and see their doctors about these things all the time. Better safe than sorry.
Good luck hope it isnt too serious.

Hello. I really think you should go to the gyno!  I had what looked like just cuts- my gyno even thought at first glance it was just cuts; but after she swabbed it and tested it for herpes it came back positive.  This sounds like herpes.  You can get it from oral sex.  Tell your gyno to test you for both forms of herpes.  Good luck.

I definitely agree with the above comments, its not something you want to mess around with whether its just a cut or an STD. Does your college have any sort of health clinic? Many offer cheaper health services so you generally do not need insurance. Or check around at your local hospitals to see if they have any low income clinics that don't require insurance. It doesn't mean the care is sub-par, its just more affordable.

Otherwise if you have to go to the gyno on your parents' insurance, can you just tell them you want to start regular routine checkups or something as a reason to go? The doc can't tell your parents why you are there, what tests they run, or what the results are if you tell them you want it to be kept confidential. Either way, i'd definitely get it checked out if for no other reason than your own piece of mind. Good luck!

I've noticed that i have cuts on my vagina and its sore. My vagina also looks to be alittle inflammed and irritated. What do you think this may be? I am not sexually active so I am alittle worried.
