My husbands pulse rate has been running 150 and higher.  What could this cause?

Time to see a doctor.  The most common cause is atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter, but there could be many other causes.  Atrial flutter is a common cause for heart rates that are locked at 150 beats per minute. An EKG should answer the question, but I would do it sooner than later.
