could this be after effects of meningitis

by potterychic927, Feb 26, 2008 07:53PM
i had a very bad case of meningitis in feb 2006 which hospitalized me for 7 days. i had 2 recurrances of meningitis since then. i have had 8 spinal taps. ever since i had meningitis, i have had several episodes of burning sensations of my skin; the burning is typically on the posterior on my lower extremities. i cannot tolerate cold, hot, clothing touching my skin, touching of my skin at all. <-- the things i cannot tolerate also cause a pins and needles sensation. when i have this what i call a flare up, i am extremely tired, have a constant headache, my joints ache, small appetite, restless sleep although i am tired and just want to sleep. i have noticed lately that i have been having some blurred vision, balance issues, memory lapses, weight loss. i am concerned because this sensation and other symptoms are preventing me from working. should i be concerned? i have been doing online research and it sounds like some of the symptoms are similar to MS. could i have MS? or am i suffering from after of effects of meningtis? or am i suffering from a neurological disorder from the meningitis? any help or recommendations or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks
