myocarditis and pregnancy

by jj7, Feb 27, 2008 11:31AM
i am a 38 year female who is five months pregnant. i had a total valve replacement last year due to a virus that attacked my whole heart. they treated me for bronchitis instead they found out as i got sicker the problem was my heart. as a result i also have severe cardiomyopathy. i should have never gotten pregnant due to my heart illness but i choose to have the baby. i am currently hospitalized for heart failure which is nothing new to me. i am a little concerned this time. my heart rate is 190 and i have a 101 fever without any infection. my chest hurts and my heart pounding is so annoying. my heart rate has been up and down since last night now it is up again. i also have more electrodes on my chest to monitor my heart than other times including the fetal monitor. the nurse since last night is in here so much listening to my heart. the cardiologist was not in yet this morning. every time i ask my husband or the nurse how i am they say i am doing good. i do not believe any of them. this is not new to me. what is happening. please give me some insight.  thank you jj
