Normally, if your husband's bowel resection was done as far back as August 2007 (seven months ago), the operative wound should have resolved and the pain should presently be at a minimum. If he is still experiencing considerable pain, I think it should be investigated more thoroughly, because it can be a sign of cancer recurrence or progression. If your doctors are reluctant to investigate the cause of the pain, I think you should seek a second opinion with another specialist.
