Lose Balance and Head Sensations

by jlssor, Feb 27, 2008 09:13PM
I am a 72 year old woman. About 15 years ago I began having balance problems while standing.  I would lose my balance and have to shuffle my "right" foot to regain my balance. This would occur about 2-3 times a year and gradually went away after about 2-3 years. The very same thing started up again about Jan. 2007 about the same time I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. Now it can happen while standing or walking and it only last seconds and I have about 12 a month. I have fallen but usually don't however I am concerned with breaking a hip. I have lost 2 -1/2 inches in height. I do not have any dizziness. My doctor says each episode is a mini-stroke. I have had many blood tests, dopplers, MRI's, cat scans, EEG, CTA, TEE, echocardiogram w/bubble, cerebral angiogram, etc.  For this I take baby aspirin, B12, Aggrenox and Crestor. It seems to improve slightly after adding Crestor.
About Nov. 2007 I began having sensations in my head. It is basically on the lower right back side of my head. Sometimes it works it way forward to the upper right portion of my head, then to the left upper side and back to the lower left side and down the back of the left side of my neck. Then it begins all over again.
I would appreciate any advise. I had submitted this on Feb. 23rd but it seemed to have disappeared
Thanks.
