Hi, I'm not a doctor, just the parent of a diabetic.  With a family history of diabetes, there is a slightly elevated risk of you developing it, but it's really not much more than anyone else.  That being said, with the symptoms you have, I would recommend you see your doctor as soon as possible to get your blood sugars tested.  Good luck.

I am not a doctor just a parent of a diabetic.  There was a family history of diabetes in my family and my daughter ended up with it.  She has had headaches but not until later years.  Now she doesn't have very many now.  If you are very thirsty and you appetite has increased dramatically I would make an appointment with the dr. and get checked out. Also if you are urinating more than normal that is also a symptom. You may want to do this anyway to ease your worry.  Good Luck.
