CROUP/MILK INTOLERANCE

by SPOON94, Feb 28, 2008 10:55AM
My son who is 3, nearly 4, has had a recent bout of diahreah. He had it for a day then it went, the came back again about 3 days later. This is not the first time it has happened like this. He was also diagnosed with asthma about 8 mths ago which turned out to be croup. He has attacks of croup every couple of wks, if he's lucky he will go a month without it. He has had another bout of diahreah today, I know that he had a rather large milkshake last night and I'm beginning to wonder if this is why he keeps getting diahreah and whether it is linked to the croup also?

If you suspect your son may have milk intolerance, have his MD get him tested for that to be sure. In the meantime give him a children's daily chewable multi-vitamin because of the diarrhea and possible loss of nutrients. Suggest giving him milkshakes made out of soymilk or Pedisure until he is tested for milk intolerance. Best of luck and thank you for your question.
