7 yr old with slightly elavated prolactin level

My 7 yr old daughter gained excessive weight over last summer and begin to have breast tissue and complained about having tender breast, she also has begun to have body odor.  I took her to the her dr and he agreed about the excessive weight gain and wanted to run some hormone and thyroid test on her.  I have a pitutitary issue that I come to Vandy for and also had to have my thyroid removed.  Her thyroid test were slightly elavated as well as her prolactin level, this was in July.    She has breast and no other girl in her class does,  we had her levels drawn again last friday, and her prolactin level is still elavated.  Of course I am concerned due to my issues.  The dr. is at a loss, so what would be the best thing I should do?  Do we need an appt. in your clinic or do we just keep watching it?

I would work with your pediatrician and have her reviewed, the elevated prolactin can be due to hypothyroidism or she may have concern for pituitary, I am betting on the first, have your pediatrician call our on call pediatric endocrinologist, I am on leave till end of next month.
The on call doc can review the labs and make an appt to see her with our group.

I do not want to post any personal information online. Honestly, every pediatrician in each city has the information to reach the subspecialists that they need especially here in Nashville. Talk with your doc, they need to make the referral, they have our number, not to worry!
