You mentioned that you were sick before the lymph nodes appeared. Most of the time, the cause of lymph node swelling is infection. Any viral or bacterial can cause this swelling. However, there are other disease conditions that can present with lymph node swelling or enlargement. Examples would be lymphomas and metastatic carcinomas.
It would be best to have yourself seen by your doctor for proper evaluation and management.
