How Worried SHould I be?

by Teacher6, Mar 02, 2008 06:11PM
I don't know if I'm too worried right now.  I've been going through fertility treatments for the past 6 months.  My last period was on 12/31/07 and I have IUI on 1/19/08.  I went back to my doctor on 2/1/08 and she told me me pregnancy test was negaitve.  I was going to start a new treatment for the next cycle of IUI but I never ended up getting my period.  I went back for another pregnancy test on 2/13/08 and it was positive.  My HCG levels were going up (but I haven't had one done recently so I'm not sure what it is at now).  My doctor schedueled me for an ultrasound on 2/29/08.  I had my first transvaginal ultrasound and the tech said that she could see the sac and the yolk sac and measured the baby as 6 weeks 2 days.  She said everything looked good so far.  We could see the heartbeat, but not hear it yet.  I thought everything was going well until I went to my doctor later that day.  My doc was very concerned because she said I should be over 7 weeks.  She thinks the baby is lagging behind and that I will probably miscarry.  I asked her if the dates could be wrong because our first pregnancy test was negative.  She said it was possible, but not likely.  I'm going for another ultrasound on 3/7 to see if the baby is growing.  I guess my question is:  is it likely the dates are wrong and that the IUI didn't work and I got pregnant on my own the following week?  And, if so, would the dates then work out?  I was terrified when I left my doc's office, but I don't know how much hope I should hold out.  Anyone ever have a similar experience?  Please help, I'm so worried.

I am kinda going throught the same thing now.  My LMp 12/31/07.  i had an IUI on 1/17.  I had my first + preg. test on 1/28.  My HCG on 1/30 was 157, progesterone 81.   Well anyway I'm having twins now and i'm at 8weeks Well now baby B is much smaller than than baby A.  The doctor said he wants to see me back in two weeks.  I'm also worried.  My doc said don't worry we'll just wait and see how B grows.  So i'm going through th same thing too.  we can worry together.
