Clomid

by Vidy470, Mar 04, 2008 03:30PM
Hi

I have finished my first dose of clomid. I used to have irregular periods and hence Doc advised me to start on clomid because i'm planning to have a baby. i remember i used to have 40-45 day cycle. So when should i exactly take my pregnancy test now? I'm now on cd 36 and took clomid from cd 3-7. I have sore breasts now, but no other symptoms.

thanks fr your responses

The only way to answer this question is to know when you ovulated. Most women who take clomid ovulate around cd14 or 15. So if that is the case for you then you should take your test now. Hope this helps

I was also put on Clomid and had to increase the dosage. Sometimes women are fooled because the Clomid has some side effects that are similiar to pregnancy. For one it makes your stomach upset and you feel nauseous, some women complain of sore breasts on the medicine as well. I just suffered the nauseousness and dizziness that comes with taking that pill. My period was also very late 3 out of the 6 months I took it so I would take the pregnancy tests just to get disappointed again.

I agree with Tameka913 that you are supposed to ovulate usually around day 14-15 and to be more specific I wast old that you ovulate 5 days AFTER your last pill, which comes down to the 15 day mark. I've read a lot and they say they are finding that if you take the pill on day 3 it works better. I know my doctor is going to start me on day 3 this month. I also have longer periods that last about 35-38 cycle so it doesn't really make a difference when taking the Clomid because you would still ovulate around the same time. I hope this info helps. Feel free to contact me if you have any other specific questions because I've done the Clomid route and have asked so many questions and read a lot about it and would love to help in any way.
