I found this article through an email from the ANI (AutismAutism Autism - resources Network International) email discussion and I thought it is worth posting here too.
The u-tube video opens up with a non verbal autisticAutistic behavior 27 year old, and she is humming, flapping her handsHand or foot spasms Hand tremor, and playing with different things. Halfway through the video she explains her language through computerized voice software. I think towards the end of the video is the most powerful, where she mentions that "failure to learn your language is seen as a deficit, yet failure to learn my language is considered normal” And she goes on about how the rest of the world perceives such people to be non people because they cannot communicate in a certain way that conforms to society.

Sorry, I'm a trekky, but that's how I feel the world is. I'm really feeling that more and more as time goes by. The video made me mad on behalf of the lady. It was powerful to watch.

"Yes, treated with respect."
Here is another video I found while surfing. I remember a few people here had comments/issues with handHand or foot spasms Hand tremor flapping, rocking, etc. See if you can guess who that is at the end of the video clip. ;)
