Hi there. Ive been having gastro issues since 2000.since i had my gall bladder out. Things were fine for about a year. then BAM i started having like a weight in my chest ab area felt like a complete obstruction. Went to GI guy i said maybe some of my gall stones got stuck in a duct somewhere. Had upper GI done upper endoscopy even MRI of Ab. Nothing so they just send you on your way. Ive been fine till last year horrible stomach cramps in bed for a week diareah lost ten pounds...lol...the only good part. Anyhoo about four weeks ago its back a concrete block in my stomach noi appetetite puking bile and diareah at same time. Went for upper GI nothing but doc is friend of my sisters so extraly concerned he went lower. He found some of my lower instestinal coils enlarged and put on report possible celiac spru. So now I've gone for blood work and am having ANOTHER upper endoscopy with biopsy for celiac. To make matters worse now i have a feeling of thickness in my throat like its closing. Told GI doc he puts me on anti depressant...WHAT? i'm the least depressed person i know..but he never bothered to even loojk in my mouth so last night i did and guess what there are little bumps on my throat in back and on sides any ideas from anyone???please help

I'm not a doctor but it sure sounds like you have the classic symptoms of Celiac.  I had my gall bladder removed in 2006 and was running along just fine until  last July then just like you...BAM!  OUt of nowhere I began to have gastro problems.  Stomach cramps, diarreah, constipation, weight loss, lower abdominal pain, etc.  Went to my GI doc 5 times in the last year with the above compalints..all she would do is give me an anti-spasmotic and each time say "you have IBS."

Do some research on Celiac.  I think you will find that most tests for this disease are quite inaccuate and doctors are highly unlikely to diagnose this as there is no medical treatment for Celiac...just quit eating wheat, barley and rye....they cant make any money if they dont write scripts.

To keep this short...I self diagnosed myself as having celiac's disease about 2 months ago and since I've quit eating gluten I have seen my symptoms improve.  For adults it can take up to a year for the intestine to complety heal itself.

Please check this out and keep me posted as to your progress.  GOOD LUCK!

You will still produce anti bodies and T-cells  for up to 3 years. No cheating on this diet. It's not worth it.
