10 month old with a very painful mouth condition...PLEASE HELP!!!

by colemomma, Mar 05, 2008 04:15PM
I posted a few days ago about this problem and got no response.  I'm really concerned about my baby's mouth.  Dentist said his tooth was just coming the rest of the way in, but they had been in for about 3 weeks when his little mouth became so swollen and "infected" looking.  Now he has a white dot on his gum and it is not a tooth coming in, I don't know what it is and he also has some small blisters on his lip.  What do I do?  He doesn't really want to eat very much either.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you though about thrush-- is his tongue coated white?

His tongue isn't coated white.  I've already thought about thrush and the dentist didn't seem to think that is what it was.  His little lip looks like he has a fever blister on the outside.

Did you ever find out what was wrong?

Well, I didn't exactly find out from any doctor, but I think he was just cutting some teeth because after his little mouth finally started to clear up he had two teeth come in.  One right in the area where he had a huge blister thing.  I have 3 older boys and none of them ever had anything like this happen to them when they were cutting teeth so it really freaked me out!  His little mouth really looked like someone had just busted his lips really bad on the inside and out!
