How do you make the drs listen

by blksapphire, Mar 06, 2008 05:49PM
Its been 3 months since my RAI and yesterday my tsh finally reached 0.52.  The endo dr seems pleased as punch, while I feel as if I'm having a nervous breakdown.   What in the bleep is wrong with these doctors that dont want to listen to us, just bcz we do have letters behind our name.

I explained how I have gaining  weight instead of losing weight. he said, "go exercise and diet".  Im like stupid what the heck do you think im doing.  Thats when he just stared at me.   Then he said, " maybe you are going hypo, so lets do more blood work".  They are all vampires....

TSH            0.52
T3-Total        117
T-3 uptake      32
Free T-4        1.8
T-4 Total        5.7

Thanks for listening to me babble.
Be Blessed

If you want, we are arranging a group to not only knock some sense into CarMan and AR-10 but to smack around a few stupid doctors.  We can add him to the list.

Seriously, why isn't 0.1 your target?   I *hate* doctors who treat the labs not the patient.

Oh, and don't even get me started on how homicidal I become when I hear the "diet and exercise" thing too.  Duh!  It's not that we are sitting home and eating bon-bons (oh, I wish) - we are thyroid patients.  We have problems with metabolism.  Duh.

Yeah - I've gone up 10 dress sizes in the past 5 years.  I'm about to scream.  I seriously have nothing I can wear anymore and all I am eating is healthy foods.  Argh.

Hugs from someone with no answers but a big (much bigger now) shoulder to lean on!

What did I do wrong? Forming a group? Of women only?

Group hug.

Group hug CarMan.  Just giving you pre-Koolaid grief.  You (and AR-10) are off the list but *those doctors* aren't!
