Doctor Input needed on Google Record Service

by ryjendube, Mar 06, 2008 11:15PM
I am writing to get some input from doctor's who might have heard about Google's new medical record service?  I am writing an article that will hopefully be published in a print Northeast U.S. newspaper.  The story is about whether or not Google's service will be accepted by medical doctor's.

As I understand the service - they are providing patients with a "storage" service, on secure Google Servers where patients (and doctor's they provide access to it) can access their medical records.  This would provide a central repository (assuming the doctor has already digitized medical records).

My question is whether the MD's (or their medical staff) in here think about such a service?  Could it provide a benefit to patients, and could it be supported by most doctor's offices?

Thanks for your help...and please, if you can, could you provide what medical office or hospital you work out of along with your answer?  Thank you!

Best Regards,
-Ryan
