Child Tooth Eruption Back of Mouth

by robroy13, Mar 07, 2008 06:57PM
A few months ago, I noticed a small, white "growth" in the back of my 9 y.o. daughter's mouth. She wouldn't let me touch it for fear of gagging, but she said it felt solid. It had the shape and look of a small tooth but it was coming in well behind, but in line, with her molars. The next day, it was gone but what was left looked like a little spot where something had been growing through the skin/gum.

Today I have noticed another growth, like something just coming up through the gum, same side and area. Should I be concerned? She had her 6 month dental appt a few weeks ago, I forgot to mention this to the dentist but the exam went well, no issues. Are teeth growing in well behind the other common?
Thanks

It is possible that they are the second molars--a bit early but if  it doesn't bother her it probably can wait for her next check up.
