You shouldn't have the same meds for trich as you would for yeast. Trich is a protazoa, and yeast is a fungus.

It would depend on how long they've been together, has she ever tested before, was she having symptoms, etc.
There are reports of people getting trich at the gym, in a hot tub (though I think that would have to be sitting in a little puddle of water on the side or something), etc., but those haven't ever been really backed up scientifically.
