Are you an RN or LPN? The human body can become physically dependent on Vicodin in a realtively short period of time especially if you meet one or all of the requirements of a person who is at risk of dependence. Do you meet any of the following?
1. Past history (including family members) of dependent tendancies including alcohol.
2. Taking more of the medication than necessary in order to experience the euphoria.
3. History of opiate usage.
Hope this helps.
Yeah, I'm an alcoholic in recovery and after weeks of trying to tolerate this new pain I finally was instructed by my dr's to take Vicodin. Boy did it f--k w/my head. I was always taking it as prescribed, never over, in fact always less, but I counted my pills, I looked forward to taking it, I waited for it to "hit" and kick in. It was totally alcoholic of me. I had surgery to relieve the pain last week & the pain is gone! It's awesome. I finished the Vicodin last night in another alcoholic way, but I couldn't wait to have them GONE, out of my house, my life. At the same time loving them.
I'm sure I'm doing some of the psychological stuff to myself but what got me was the sneezing & diarrhea. So random & of course defintite signs of w/drawl.
I'm feeling sleezy and shameful and depressed. Send me love!! I'm so lucky my pain was temporary and I'm so lucky I have health insurance that paid for the surgery (I think).
Thanks for having a place for me to write this out,

Anyway, it would be later down the line when I started getting plastic surgeries that the real issues started.
My suggestion is that you take some non drowsy sudafed or benadryl and just deal with it. You do not want a staggering problem with opiates.
I have no intention of trying to get more pills. Just humbled once again.
Thanks everyone
