Living with sepsis?

by Bostonian08, Mar 08, 2008 11:01PM
Hi everyone,
I'm not sure which category to post this question, but we were just told that my grandfather has an infection in his blood that has not responded to any antibiotic treatments. The doctor said he will most likely die from this infection, but that it may take 2 or 3 months. I'm just wondering if this is the same thing as sepsis, and if anyone knows anything about it? I've always thought that a blood infection (sepsis) would cause someone to become very sick and die quickly...? My grandfather seems fine, other than this diagnosis. Does anyone have any info???
thanks,
Bostonian

Well, I guess the doctor was right. He did pass away after about 2 months.
