Tramadol WD

by LostM, Mar 09, 2008 12:32AM
How long does it take for the symptoms of tramadol WD to stop or reduce as I have been off for 3 days and feel the symptoms are just as bad. Is weaning any better (or does it work) . Is there anything to help the leg pains?s. Worst is no sleep and my legs are killing me. so painful I can't stay still yet so exhausted I can't sit up. Am I gonna feel better once I'm finally free of it? ps 5yr addict

you are still in w/d's, it will get better, and more people will be on in the morning that can help. leg pain-try hot baths with epsom salt, and heating pads wrapped around the leg has helped some. melatonin will help with sleep, can take up to 10 mgs. i think a day! goingtomakeit  can help with the sleep, send em  a message and they will get back wtih ya 2moro.  you can do this, stay focused, and keep ya chin up....

3 days isn't long to be off....our tramadol pros are logged off for the night, hopefully someone will know something....It is definatly better to taper, if you have the self control....but we suffer withdrawls regardless, just a matter of what degree of pain....you will feel better in time.  the painful truth is it might take a couple months to be back to normal.....but the physical will be long gone by then, you'll have some emotional more than likely....on a five year addiction.  how much were you taking?

ok yes tappering is better and for tramadol it should be done becouse it has a W/D symptom of seizures which are not fun. you would feel better in about 4 more days but tappering can reduce what you feel so if you can that would be the recomined route to take there are a few on here that have gotten off tamadal but already down for the night. Keep posting everyone here is helpfull. just remember you have made the choice to quit does not matter how you do it it is that you do you are strong I know this cause you are here Calms Forte can help with the legs also bannana's ie Potassium so if you have to go get back here earlier and there will be more to give you the info that you are seaking

take care and stay focused

Hiya
Um I was up to 1200mg a day at one stage and at best could only ever get down to 600-800mg/day. Crunch time has come but it is really really hard esp as I have a family + stuff to look after (that is the reason I wanna get back on track).I have stated seeing a therapist to help me as well... just need to get through the leg pain and no sleep w/o going crazy.  This site is pretty amazing tho' as I had no idea other ppl had experienced tramadol as such a "hardcore" addiction. It is weird reading about ppl experiencing the same as me as .Thx for the support.

lost,
wow you are very lucky you did not have sezuires ........ yes if you are coming off 800 mg of ultram a day you are right about where you should be with WD .with tram it really helps to taper all of the way down .

things will start to lessen between now and 7 days ...... but you are looking at about a week with tram before you start to really feel like you again....... it does get better be very proud of yourself for doing this .we are here to help.

For the tapering. How much should I try to reduce over how long? And does it help reduce the symptoms rather than cold turkey? Thanks

Welcome to the forum....I don't know much about tram dosing, but yes...it will reduce the symptoms if you do a slow taper. ...I took vicodins...and i decreased 1/2 pill every 2 days..but then again...i think trams are different.....More should be along soon.
Good luck and keep posting!

1 pill a week and it will reduce symptoms but not get rid of them all together .also at this point you are almost on day 4 do you really want to start this over ..you have manged to get threw the first three days without sezuires your chances would have been the highest the first 72 hours CT. Within a few days the physical symptoms will be over? just a thought...
