HPV and New Partners

by squirrlygirl137, Mar 10, 2008 02:09AM
I have recently become intimate with another male. My fear is that I may spread HPV to him. If I have been outbreak free for a year and have had normal paps(no abnormalities) could I still spread it to him? I do not have warts in my mouth, but could I still give it to him through oral sex? Would he be able to perform sexual acts to me with his hands if we used latex gloves and washed up afterwards? I want to be as safe as possible and would be willing to go without any contact but I would like him to gain some satifaction. My doctor is unresponsive in trying to help me learn more about HPV so I have had to turn to the internet. Thank you very much and I am hoping that there are others out there that have kept their partners HPV free.

Putting him at risk seems very unlikely.  You should read through the expert archives about transmission risks, they'd be able to answer this question far better than I ever could.  And perhaps change to a doctor who will actually listen to you, it doesn't sound as if yours is all that helpful.
