Is it common to have Headache during pregnancy?

by sue1975, Mar 11, 2008 01:06PM
Hi,
I am 10 week’s and 6 days pregnant. Is it ok to take Tylenol 500 mg for headache during pregnancy? How many tablets can I take per day?

Also, why I am getting headache very frequently is it normal during pregnancy.

Best regards,
Sue

Hello,

Every pregnancy is different.  If you are having headaches Tylenol is absolutely fine.  You can take up to 4 grams a day or two 500mg tablets every 6 hours.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

From everything that i have read YES!, because of the additional hormone levels in your body, headaches actually are very common during pregnancy. I honestly though, don't know whats safe to take so if they are unbearable i would suggest calling your dr. just to find out. Good luck to you!

ok i really dont know if you can..but my Gyno. told me not to take Tylenol of 500mg..he told me to take a lower dosage, until i was about 25weeks. But honestly i dont think 500mg would hurt anything, but you still might want to ask your gyno. because some Doctors dont want you to take certain things incase there is some kind of condition, or problem with your pregnancy.but yes i think it would be fine, just ask ur Dr. incase. Good Luck!

Oh my Gosh is it common?  I had so many headaches it was just crazy!!!!  I took tylenol al the way up to my 6 month because of back backpainand headaches.  I started having headaches and 2 weeks of pregnancy and they didn't stop until 24 weeks of pregnancy.  Tylenol should be okay.  Good Luck!!!
