I just found this thread. I looked for it earlier, but it just showed up. Sorry AF reared its ugly head. Sounds like we are on the same schedule. Mine started yesterday.  I started taking the geritol tonic yesterday. It is pretty gross. I just plug my nose and throw it in the back of my throat and swallow. I am hoping this works. I am also taking Evening primerose oil. I am willing to try anything at this point. I can't afford any more fertility treatments right now. It really sucks that my insurance doesn't cover it. There are only 13 states who have to provide fertility coverage. I had a thing sent to me saying they want to get a bill passed where most states would have to cover fertility problems because it is just as much a mental illness as anything else when you can't conceive and I totally agree. I wish somehow we could all get together to get something done about this problem. There are so many of us who would make excellent parents but we can't achieve pregnancy and then so many who shouldn't be parents that have no problems getting pregnant. Sorry I know this is supposed to be about geritol but I am just really upset that my husband and I have been trying for over 2 years and nothing, not even close. I feel better now. Good luck to you. I hope the tonic works.

Sometimes we just need to vent and get it out of our system! It's ok to get angry, upset, or even sad. I think it's healthy for us to express our emotions instead of letting it build up. You can vent any time on here. As far as the fertility thing goes, I agree with you. I haven't been to a fertility doctor and i'm not sure my insurance would even cover that, but i stand on the same side of the fence as you on that issue.

I work midnights so I haven't been able to get the Geritol tonic as of yet. I'll probably go this weekend. Haven't tried anything else. but i'm looking into alot of alternative things like acupunture, massage therapy, herbs, etc. i'll let you know what i find out. good luck!

I've had to work the last few days. Thank you for your support. I really hope we will all get pregnant. It just doesn't seem fair. Well all we can really do is pray, hope and support each other. Did you get the geritol tonic yet? It is so nasty, but I have been taking it everyday and for the first time I'm charting my BBT's and not forgetting. I also purchased the ovulation predictor sticks. I really don't know what else to do except wait for a miracle. By the way the geritol tonic has 12% alcohol in it which is quite a bit. I wouldn't take it after ovulation and be careful if you take it before driving. It kind of gives me a buzz because I don't drink. Well God Bless and baby dust to you.

I know exactly how you feel!  My husband and I have been married almost 4 years, and we've never used any type of birth control.  When I told my doctor this, she was shocked to learn that I've never been pregnant.  So they checked and said I have PCOS.

I'm believing for a miracle though.  They said it shouldn't stop me from getting pregnant, but it'll just be harder to get pregnant.  I'm just as frustrated as you are.

It always frustrates me to no end when I see teenagers getting pregnant, and they can't financially afford the child....they are still babies themselves!

As much as I feel like giving up, I just gotta believe that it's coming soon.  We are thinking about looking into adoption, but I really want a child of my own as well.

I believe God knows what's best for us all, so I will be praying for everyone!  Take care and God Bless!!!!

4 years is like an eternity. It has been 2 years and 3 months for us. I have had a laproscopic procedure to rule out endometriosis, which I didn't have. I had an hsg to check for blockage in my tubes which I didn't have. I did have uterine polyps which were taking up most of my uterus. I had those removed in October 2007. My doctor said I could have never gotten pregnant with those in there. Since they were removed we have tried for 3 months and nothing. When my IUI was scheduled I had the flu before and a really bad cold 1 week after it. Sometimes I feel like something is just preventing it from happening. Now my husband is sick. He never gets sick. His temperature has been between 102.5-104.5. I called the doctor and he prescribed an antibiotic, but now I am thinking will this prevent it from happening this month. I am on day 5 today so hopefully he gets better and I don't catch it. I have been taking that geritol tonic, nasty!!!!! I hope it is worth it.

How did they check you for PCOS. Did they do an insulin test? I had an insulin test done, but they didn't have me drink that orange liqued. They just had me fast and they took blood and said it came back normal. Also I went in for an ultrasound the day I started my period and didn't have any cysts, so I wouldn't think I have PCOS. I don't really know alot about PCOS.

I had two good follicles when I went for my IUI. One was over 18 and the other one was over 23. My husbands sperm looked good. The doctor even showed it to us on a screen and we saw them swimming around, it was really cool to see. My lining was at 8 which is perfect. My progesterone level 1 week after was 33.2. Everything was perfect except we didn't get pregnant. The really frustrating part was paying $1000 with nothing to show for it. I know people pay more than that, but we really didn't have extra money, so we will have to pay that off before doing it again. Well I could go on forever.

I am with you. I believe God knows when our children should be here and he won't be able to bless us with them until it is their time to be here. Unfortunately when we want something, we want it yesterday. That yearning inside us for a baby. There is nothing we can do about that. It is in all of us. It is just natural. That biological clock is a real thing.

I believe it will happen for you. Have you taken Metformin. I have heard that helps with people who have PCOS. Sorry I wrote a book. Believe me I could talk all day. God Bless and Baby Dust to you.

i think you are exactly right when you say God knows when He plans to put a little one in our lives. i can understand the frustrations of a couple who have been trying for years and have nothing to show for it. but i also believe that God has a reason and purpose for everything. i believe He will bless each and every one of us one day with what our heart desires most...a child. God can see everything. Maybe He sees something in our near future that needs to be taken care of...or perhaps there is another reason. All i know for sure is that God never gives us more than we can handle. He knows our hearts  and He knows what He's doing. i trust Him 100% and even though I get frustrated at times, I know that He may not give me what Iwant at the time but He provides me with exactly what I need.

I haven't started the tonic yet. i'm afraid it's too late. AF is almost gone. I should have started the tonic when AF showed but I never went and bought any. my iron has been low and i don't understand why. i have been taking the geritol tablets so my iron levels should be great but since af arrived by iron has depleted. i feel so tired all the time, even when i sleep my regular 8 hours. i don't know what's going on but i think i need to get my body into shape before trying again this month.  i think what i really need is a vacation...from WORK!

well, good luck ladies. keep me posted. i'll do the same for you! as of today, i am on cycle day 7. should be ovulating at the end of this month. wooohooo. i'll be back in the 2ww before ya know it!!!

I am wondering if you have ever had your thyroid checked. I have a hypothyroid. It caused me to be extremely tired before I was medicated for it. I could barely function. My brain was always fuzzy, I had very little energy, my hair was falling out, I was extremely cold, and my glands were always swollen. Do you have any of these symptoms? I had my regular doctor check it and she only checked my TSH which was a 3.01, based on that it fell within the normal limits, but she should have checked my T3 and T4. Only the specialists check everything. I had to go to a specialist who figured it out right away. I had been going to the doctor for fatigue for over a year. Also if you have a hypothyroid it is hard to get pregnant. The last time they checked my TSH it was a 1.63. It should be under a 2.50 when trying to get pregnant. I have read that most people feel best when it is between a 1.0-2.0. After being on the medication for 1 week it was like night and day. I couldn't believe the difference. I would definitely have your thyroid checked out, 6 million people go undiagnosed each year. The doctor needs to go by symptoms if the TSH is between a 3-10. Let me know what you think. It could be low iron too, the symptoms are similar.
