Irritated, open, Meatus

by 34overseas, Mar 12, 2008 07:18PM
Two months ago while having sex, I noticed that my urithral meatus stayed open during an erection.  I had assumed that it was irritation from the condom I was using (some european brand).  I am 34 and I am sure that this has never happened before.  I had other std symptoms and I saw a doctor and he gave me azithromycin and ceftriaxone for G/C or clamydia.  He was unable to test me because of inadequate blood testing facilities in the country I was in.

After returning to the states, I still had pain in my lower abdomen and swollen testicles and I was diagnosed with prostatitis and given cipro for 2 weeks.  I was tested for herpes, GC, clamydia, syphilis, hiv, and it all came in negative.

It has been a month since the sexual encounter and my STD symptoms are gone but my meatus still stays open during an erection and it burns to pee.  My testicles are also itchy, as well as the bottom of the penis head.  Is this because of urithritis caused by prostatitis, or could this be Trichomoniasis, or some other type of infection (fungal).  I've researched the internet and I have not been able to find discussions of the meatus staying open.  My hope is that my meatus will regain its elasticity when the prostatitis is cured but it is very disconcerning.

I hope you can shed some light on this topic, I will not see a urologist for another two weeks, and my pcp just shrugged his shoulders and told me that "time will tell".

I have not come across this as an issue previously. I wonder if your shaft skin is tight longitudinally and pulls on the glans when you have an erection, thus opening the meatus. I'd have  to see your penis to make any better guess. The discomfort that you experience is most likely due to the  local trauma which your urethra experiences.
I do not see how the scrotal itching, prostatitis fit in to the overall picture.
Good luck on this one. Keep your appointment.
