Hoping to clear some confusion

I don't have the HPV this forum concerns, but I was sort of brought here by another member. There seems ever so often people worried about getting HPV other than sexual contact. This is both true and not true. There are many different kinds of HP viruses, but not all HPV's are the same.

The kind of HPV that this forum community is based on is the sexually transmitted kind, not the kind that cause warts in other areas of the body such as planter warts and common warts.

Those kinds of HPV can be spread by skin to skin contact, but they are not the potentially lethal HPV that is spread through sexual contact.

(and now I'll slink away and return to my "native" forums)
