I have another question for you,I told you I reinjured my neck after  I had surgery on c6-7 because I had a large herniated disk. I said I bent down at work and felt and heard a pop, well  the doctor gave me the MRI to take it to the other doctor who helped with the surgery, so I pulled out the report that was in with the MRI and it says I have a small protrusions at t7-8 and t8-9 but thats not the thing that bothers me it also says I have a PROTRUSION  at C6-7 THE DOCTOR SAYS THATS JUST A SHADOW ON THE MRI BUT THE OTHER MRI SHOWS THE SAMETHING! Thats where my neck hurts, and my arms and legs keep getting numb, so please tell me could this be my problem, why isn't anyone listening to me? I'm so depressed and I hurt so much, PLEASE HELP ME!

Hi Lizzy,
Thanks for the advice! I don't know what physiotherapy is but I'm going to check into it because I will do anything if it will help me feel better,I'm at my wits end somebody got to do something to help me. I really don't think everything shows up on the MRI because I feel something pinching the back of my neck and your right I feel like theres no future with this pain! I'm not going to sit around and take this pain anymore if I have to go to a doctor everday until someone finds out why I have all this pain.  THANKS AGAIN!

Hi!
I am 43 and have had 1 op in Dec 2006 on my neck at C7 but i totally understand what you are saying.  I have the same symptoms exactly as yourself and i have been told my pain is due to 'scar tissue'.  I too am very depressed and cry alot and cant see no future with this pain.  I would write to the 'Chief Executive' of the Hospital you have had the operations and insist on some further advice, support, physiotherapy and keep on at them until they help you.
This is what i am doing and i started physiotherapy today. Very painful but think this may help.
Hope this gives you some hope!

Hi.

Do not be anxious about the results of the EMG. You will never know if you don't do it. I suggest you think about it for some time, keeping your mind off the results.

I have plates and screws in almost my whole neck,I'm really nervous about getting the EMG not because of it being painful but if it comes back negative then what do I do.I know that I felt a pop in my neck just below c6-7 thats when all my pain started.

Hello.

EMG is a difficult test to go through. But it is extremely helpful. I suspect since you have a constant neck pain, there is a nerve root impingement.

Were any devices installed at the spine?

I must prepare you. This is the most painful test i have ever had.  There is no good way to explain it to you so be prepared for alot of discomfort.

Did you ever think about getting an emg to make sure that there wasnt any nerve damage done during one of the surgeries that you had?
