Strange jelly-like formation in Evian bottle

by EduardoNY, Mar 15, 2008 12:31PM
Hello Doctor,
I am very scared because I just noticed some jelly-like formations in a bottle of Evian water that I just drank from. This bottle has been open for a couple of days probably and just now I noticed these strage things in it. They are very clear and translucid and look a lot life jelly. I don't know how these things were formed and what they are, so I'm very concerned about what they could do to my health. Please help me with some insight into this.
Thank you,
Eduardo

Difficult to say without seeing the bottle.

You can send the liquid to a microbiology lab and see if any bacteria grows.

As for symptoms, gastroenteritis can present with nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping and bowel changes.

Suspicion of this can lead to sending the stool off for analysis and culture.

This question should be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
