How long can muscle strength continue to improve after decompression surgery?

Hello.

The usual period of recovery is anywhere between six weeks to six months. It depends upon the extent of loss of strength before the surgery.

Reduced muscle strength can be regained by training. But if there was an atrophy of the muscle, it may have lost some strength permanently.

I want to thank you SO much for your time spent answering questions.

I was fortunate to have gotten surgery quickly after the weakness.  I couldn't remember what my NS told me, but  I knew it could be awhile, you made me feel much better tis evening.  Thanks again for your time.
