seizures?

by demoss2007, Mar 16, 2008 01:52PM
Hi I am just tring to figure out what is happening with my wife. Last september she experienced a headache she had never had before. Along with episodes of not being aware of what she was doing or where she was. Since then she had a MRI, a lumbar puncture ,  2 EEGs and a EEG that was a 5day 24 hour video monitered EEG. The MRI was fine they did not find anything abnormal on it. On the lumbar puncture, someone did say that her protein level was elevated. The first EEG she had, before she was put on any type of medicine, did show some type of activity. The neurologist put her on depakote which made her sick, then they put her on trieptil, which she had reactions to, while she was in the hospital for the reactions they gave her another EEG which they said she was having slow brain wave and they decided to put her on dilanten.Well since then they have changed her  levels, her  neurologist has quit, and she had the 5 day monitoring which she did have an episode during, but during that 5 days did not show any epilitic patterns. they said it was Somatization Disorder. Well the hours of reading that I have done on somatization disorder ,none of it seems to fit what is going on with her. So I have come to the realization that I am going to have find out myself which direction to try to go with this. I mean she still does odd things during her sleep like sleep with arms up and do weird things with her fingers. During an episode she sometimes makes this sound like she is smacking her lips. So we dont know if these are actual seizures or some kind of other episodes. Thank you for any input anyone can give
