Asthma and Mucous

I have had asthma for about 20 years and a few yrs ago I began producing a lot of mucous in addition to experiencing chest tightness. I have been taking Advair 500/50 for about 9 months now but I still am constantly clearing mucous from my chest throughout the day. Sometimes the thickness and volume requires me to take some time and effort to clear it. The Advair has helped my peak flows and reduced my albuterol use but any chance my mucous production will decrease? Will anything else hwlp with the mucous?
