Thing under my toungue

The thing under my tounge that is connected to my mouth and bottom of my tongue,
its like a little piece of skin that connects the two. Anyway, mine has swelled up and
turned red for some reason and it freaking hurts. The tongue itself is fine and not swelled
or anything but that thing underneath it is killing me... What can I do?

You should see an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon if it does not completely resolve within 5 days or if it is so painful it hurts when you eat or swallow.
