Can someone help? there are scary large grotesque growths in my mouth

by mandyxpandy, Mar 18, 2008 07:21PM
Okay, lately [past 2 months] ive been having trouble with my throat, First it was just swallowing hurt but id just gotten over a cold so no big deal right. Then i started hearing clicking when i swallowed, and my neck started to hurt. I t feels like, theres more lumps then theres supposed to be going down the front of my neck, theyre bony and i dont like to touch them. Now its basically pain, sometimes it feels like my mouth is burning. Also my neck lately has been really hot to the touch. Im also a smoker but have only been for about 5 years. The back of my throat had been feeling wierd but looking in the mirror i saw nothing. Then i took some pictures and im really freaked out at the result, It looks like where my tonsils should be is caved in, on both sides, but on one theres like, this ball that sticks out, i have pictures. Im planning on going to the walk in but i dont have my health card right now, and i dont have the money to get it for another week. Ive looked all over the internet for hours but i cant find any similar pictures to the ones i have. Ill put them up too. Thanks....

Hi,

You need to consult an ENT specialist for a clinical evaluation or even see your doctor for an examination. You most probably have infection of the upper respiratory tract including tonsillitis.

You would need a course of antibiotics, pain relief medications and oral anti-inflammatory medications. Try some steam inhalation, betadiene gargles and warm saline gargles and see if it helps.

You need to talk to your doctor about this - a confirmed diagnosis is essential for the further management.

Let us know what your doctor says.

Keep us posted on how you are doing and if you have any other doubts.

Regards.
