stage 3- is that good or bad?

by patti70, Mar 19, 2008 10:43AM
hi-  I have a friend who was diagnosed with stage or level 3 breast cancer. They did a biopsy  and determined that she is at a level/stage 3.   I have no clue what "type" of cancer it is.   What does stage 3 mean?

Hi.
Can you recall what was written in her biopsy report?  Perhaps you can elaborate more on this.
Staging in breast cancer depends on the TNM classification.  T stands for tumor, N for nodal status, and M for metastasis.  Stage 3 breast cancers could be further sub classified into stage 3A, 3B, and 3C.  Each stage can have a different prognosis.
