What is herpes aurius?
The ELISA shouldn't react with herpes.
Yes, the flu symptoms they refer to are aches, swollen glands, fecers - not a sore throat or irritated eyes.
Gonorrhea and chlamydia will show up in a week, syphilis can take a month, but usually doesn't. Herpes (which you might have?) can take up to 4 months.
I would check the CDC, ****.com, etc. But you don't have symptoms of early HIV.

Thank you for your reply and advice. I did not have oral sex; I did not even kiss the lady. My concern was that in some of the literature that I have consulted says that some of the symptoms of accute HIV (early stage), mimick symptoms of the flu, and that this symptoms can be noticed shortly after geting infected. However the information regarding the period of time between infection (i.e. intercourse) and the symptoms is a little contradictory: some say a few days and others say several weeks.
Do you know where I can find the most reliable o definitive source for geting this information?
Anyway, I will get tested for HIV in a few weeks. Do you Know if the ELISA test is sensitive to other types of viruses, becuase I ve had herpes aurius for a long time. Will this affect the test results?
About othe other stds, do you know when is a good time to get tested? I ask this because of the incubation periods, etc.
Thanks again for the help
The chances of HIV are low, but you should test anyway. Test now, and then test again in 3 months.
There is no need to test with anything except the ELISA.
You wouldn't have any eye or throat problems from this, unless you gave her oral sex. If you didn't, the eye and throat things are pure coincidence.
I would also test for other stds, such as gonorrhea and chlamydia.
