What actions are being taken against the use of Sargnti Paste?

Why is the Dental community and the government so lackadaisical in the pursuit of banning the use of Sargenti paste in this country?
This paste, comprised of paraformaldehyde and lead, can cause irreparable damage to the patients body. Usually it is used without the patient's consent. I am befuddled as to why a "dentist" would use this Sargenti paste which is NOT approved by the FDA, instead of an APPROVED substance. Yes, I must ascertain that it all boils down to money. Cheerleaders of this stuff brag that it takes one visit to complete the root canal, versus three or so. I guess thats my answer.

I do not know why there are dentists that are still using the Sargenti method, I can only hope that the dental societies and the FDA are diligent in their efforts to ban the method.

The formaldehyde in the sargenti paste will kill whatever is left if a dentist does a sloppy job of cleaning the canals.  Its a quicky way to do a root canal.  In one of the American Endodontic Society's newsletters on their site, www.****.com, a dentist wrote a "letter to the editor" and bragged about how he made $626/hour doing Sargenti root canals.   How I wish I had only paid the three dentists in my case $626 each.  It has cost me way more than that.....Including a life time of a numb and horrifically burning lip and chin.  Medicated it feels like I've soaked my lip and chin in jalapeno juice...24/7.  Unmedicated its time to get the gun...it isn't livable.  And then there is the handful of oh so fun drugs to keep me from needing the gun.

PLEASE - tell everyone you know to ask "are you putting formaldehyde in my mouth" before every root canal.  If the answer is yes or yes, but....leave and file a complaint with your state dental board.  For more information visit www.****.org.  A few injured patients started the site so others would know the right questions to ask.  The ones we wish we knew.   Don't walk in our shoes.   www.****.org
