Need insurance

by Brandon414, Mar 19, 2008 07:29PM
HI,

I have recently developed some kind of serious condition that has not been diagnosed yet.  I was diagnosed with hypertension and anxiety but I know those are only symptoms of the real condition.  I was rejected by every insurance company I applied to becuase of my pre-existing condition.  I can only work part time and am not covered through my work so I am in a really tight spot.  I do not know if their are loopholes that can be used to get coverage such as maybe being able to join a group policy or something.  Or mayb there is unsurance that is willing to cover people with higher risk conditions.  I am concerned about hospital expenses if this continues to worsen.  Any help is greatly appreciated as I am almost at a loss.  Thanks.

Dear Brandon414,

Unless you live in a State where Health Insurance is not medically underwritten(i.e. NY, NJ, MA), you may be declined due to pre-existing conditions. Depending on the supply (the Carriers & plans in your State of residence), there may be some that have more lenient guidelines. You need to contact a licensed broker or go online to www.ehealthinsurance.com (a nationwide broker) & find out what Carriers are more lenient in your area. Agencies like eHealth can also advise you on other programs if you don’t qualify for traditional Individual & Family Health Insurance.
Another good resource to look for other programs is http://www.coverageforall.org/our_services.htm#apps which provides State specific guide that outlines all of your State’s public and private health care choices for individuals and groups in almost every demographic profile, as well as offering a reference list of phone numbers and web sites.

Sincerely,

Amir Mostafaie
