Annual 12 Lead E C G s

I have a history of Heart and Stroke on both sides of the family. Uncles and brother died at a very early age. I have high blood pressure which is under control with medication. Should I have an ECG with my annual check ups.I have been with the same family doctor for 21 years and he does not send me for these tests.

It wouldn't be anything for them to do one in the office.  They SHOULD have one in the office, I almost think it is standard practice.  Ask them for one, better yet DEMAND one.  I also think with the history of heart disease you should also be sent at least once a year for a stress echo.  Good luck to you!!!

I have controlled high blood pressure but no family history, am a 50 year old male and my doctor does and EKG every year at my annual physical. I have had two nuclear stress tests and three echos over the past 3 years, all negative but he still insists on an EKG, yours should as well. I'm sure they can do it at their office and it only takes a couple minutes, I would ask for one for sure.
