Adenomyosis and Hypothyroidism?

by Lisaact, Mar 20, 2008 01:37AM
I have had Adenomyosis for over 10 yrs, and symptoms have been getting worse, I am 45 with no diabetes or HT. Over the past 4 months I have been having a large amt. of unexplained symptoms, mainly during menses. I have seen many specialists for diagnosed parasites, IBS, ISVD, Strabismus(no cause found), RT factor, and unexplained incidences such as panic disorder and cold intolerability. Recently, had an event that was similar to a miscarriage, but testing showed otherwise. I have seen an endocrin., but because I was having symptoms of both hypo and hyper at the time, since blood tests came back 'normal', he went textbook on me. I will be seeing another endocrin. and IM within the next month as they are highly recommended, and just had a endom. biopsy done. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am at the end of the line here!

I was normal TSH with awful GYN symptoms monthly ..... they did a endometrial biopsy on me, too, and all was normal .. I had anxiety beyond belief a few days before my monthlies and they were irregular .. I was late alot and 2X month a lot ... I had 3 cysts in that timeframe on my ovaries .... I was on tranquilizer 3-4X month for anxiety which they said at first was depression and scripted Zoloft .. I said NO .. i.t is hormonal feeling and not clinical....so we went to ATivan andit worked!   That lasted about4-5yrs and then I had thyroid surgery for a lump and ended up on Synthroid now with supressed levels for thy cancer (small tumors found) and guess what .. ALL MY GYN PROBLEMS are gone and not an ATivan one time for PMS anxiety and all is regular and I am fine in that dept ... looking back I was subclinical Hypo at 2.8 !!!!!!  It was messing up everything.

Let us know how you do ... I am not familiar with Adenomyosis .. is that swelling of the thyroid perhaps?

Thank you for the feedback. I'm gathering as much info. as possible.Yes, it's a hormonal feeling with me as well. Adenomyosis is similar to Endometriosis, but it affects the muscle of the uterus and I think it is part of my problem. Still going from one dr. to the next. I'll ask about your situation on my next visit. Thanks again...
