closed hole spina bifida

by eriscatty, Mar 20, 2008 01:43PM
Hi, I am looking for info for my daughter who was born in 1978 with closed hole spina bifida, it wasn't detected until birth and then at less than 48 hrs old she underwent major surgery to drain the fluid that had built up at the base of her spine and repair the damage done, Thankfully after surgery and checks till she was about 8yrs she was given the all clear, she was 100% able bodied, perfect 'normal'. she has had 2 beautifull children. Now she had to go GP because of pain in her back and legs and has major headaches. They did x rays ect and have found the vertebrae? (sorry about spelling) in her neck are to close together and her hips are twisted can anyone please tell me if this could be because of her spina bifida or something else? thankyou. She is going for further tests but its a waiting game isn't it. we are in uk by the way
