best breast pump?

I have a question about breast pumps.
I am due the first week of May and I really want to breastfeed when she comes.  Her father and grandparents want to be able to feed her too so we need to get a pump.  Does anyone have a good suggestion for what kind to buy?  They can be so expensive and we are on a budget so I don't want to buy a piece of **** pump that doesn't work but I can't really afford the top of the line 200 something dollar one either.
thank you :)

i rented mine from the hospital. it wasn't cheap, but i knew it wasn't going to be a piece of poop.  it is $45 a month and $50 for the replacable parts.  it works great.

i had the medela pump in style advance and liked it, but it's very pricy. i have heard good things about the lansinoh double electric pump and it's much cheaper.

I happened to read your post and I wanted to share with you that I LOVE the Avent Isis manual pump.  I think it costs like $50 or less and I have used it with both of my sons (2 yrs and 2 months).  I actually have an expensive electric one and I prefer the cheap one. :) Good luck!

To: everyone
Thanks so much!  :D
I have an appt. tomorrow, so I'll ask the doctor if she knows what their prices to rent are and I'll write down the others to check them out.

Even if I rent one for at home it just seems like a good idea to own one that's small/uncomplicated/portable...

I recently bought a Lansinoh Double electric pump and I love it. I had a medela but it went out. The Lansinoh is so nice and comfortable and easy to clean. Milk can never get into the tubing like it can with a medela. The best part is it is only 149.99 at walmart.com and you can get them to ship it to your nearest walmart store for free. I pump about 3 times a  day and I can get 8 oz in about 10 minutes. I usually wait 1 hour after I feed DD to pump. This pump is way better than my medela and was a heck of alot cheaper!!! If you want a good electric pump but dont want to spend 300 dollar I would go with the Lansinoh pump. Good luck and Congratulations!!!!

thank you for your comments I really really appreciate them!
I currently have the Lansinoh manual pump on my registry.  I heard good things about it and it's not as expensive as some of the others.

I feel like the reviews on the stores' websites are biased since almost all of the reviews gush over how good the most expensive ones are and completely bash the ones that are more likely to fit in my price range.
I'm just nervous about making sure that I get a good quality product and I figured this would be the place to ask since you all have first hand knowledge and more than likely you aren't working for the companies that make them ;)

maybe I'm worrying too much about this but i consider this to be a very very important decision...

I got a an electric pump during my baby shower and I hated it. However I ended up going out and getting the Avent Isis manual pump and LOVE it. Its only $50 dollars and I find that it works better than the electic ones. However that is just my opinion.

I got the Medela Swing. It is electric but it's a single pump. I can get 4 oz. in about 30 minutes.
