spikes in bp @ night

I am a 69 year old female with hereditary high cholesterol+ aortic stenosis- I have had 2 episodes of spikes in BP @ night,I awake after several hours sleep diaphoretic, heart pounding. weak, & the last time Numbness in jaw. I am on Verapamil,Slo-Mag , & Lipitor. Why is my BP under good control daytime- but 2 times in 2 years this occured- my stress Echo is OK except for valve they are watching
